Description

A swing check valve is a mechanical valve that controls fluid flow in one direction while automatically preventing reverse flow. This non-return valve is used in pipelines to protect pumps, equipment, and systems against backflow. iSteel India is a trusted industrial valve manufacturer that delivers advanced industrial valve solutions through innovation and technology. The valves are made of a disc attached to a hinge pin, which swings open during forward flow and closes when flow stops or reverses. Gravity and reverse pressure allow the disc to return to its seat, forming a seal that prevents backflow. Swing check valves are necessary in water systems, oil pipelines, power plants, and chemical processing facilities that require unidirectional flow for safety and efficiency.

A swing check valve operates through simple mechanical movement that is regulated by flow pressure and direction. The design supports smooth flow while stopping reverse movement without manual action.

Specification

Forward Flow Operation – During forward flow, fluid pressure forces the disc away from the valve seat.

Disc and Hinge Mechanism – The disc connects to a hinge pin fixed inside the valve body. This hinge allows free swinging motion.

Flow Direction Guidance – The valve body shape guides fluid movement in one direction. Proper alignment ensures stable disc motion.

Backflow Condition – When the flow slows or reverses, gravity and reverse pressure force the disc back.

Sealing and Backflow Prevention – The disc seals against the seat surface once closed.
